Our Staff

Rediscovering and sharing Colorado’s history is a multifaceted task, which requires a passionate team of responsible stewards. Meet our team of enthusiastic leaders dedicated to the task:

Jennifer LaGraff

Executive Director
Phone: 720-865-0812
Email: jennifer@fourmilepark.org

Born and raised in Denver with a short stint in Steamboat Springs for high school, Jennifer comes to FMHP with ample experience in non-profit operations, development, brand strategy, and event management. She graduated from Metro State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Nonprofit Management and Public Relations. LaGraff previously served two of Denver’s top nonprofit arts and culture organizations: the Denver Botanic Gardens and Denver Film Society. She is also a member of the International Live Events Association where she served as President of the Denver Chapter in 2016–2017 and continues to serve at the International level.

In her spare time, she loves to travel with her husband, Kristopher, cook for family and friends, and play with her niece and nephew.

Demi Coca

Special Projects & Administration Manager
Phone: 720-865-0810
Email: demi@fourmilepark.org

Born and raised at the base of Pikes Peak, Demi has grown to appreciate the marvels of Colorado nature. The beautiful world around her has shaped Demi’s path and the way that she travels it. She has been inspired to enjoy the ever-changing interconnected present and to give more than she takes.

Demi’s path has led her to Four Mile Historic Park where she first began doing community service on site grounds; the work was vigorous and fulfilling. In the fall of 2017, Demi became a part of the Education Team where she would joyfully interact with visiting youth and share with them the wonders of history. Now the park’s Special Projects and Administrative Manager, she works closely with each department and has been able to utilize her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Demi is excited about all the great opportunities here at Four Mile and she is dedicated to making a positive impact in the community.

In her free time, Demi likes to explore Denver on her bike, watch her favorite fútbol teams, fly down slopes on her skis, nap with her cat, and spend time with the fam. Demi would like to give a special shout out to her best friend and husband: “Kamehameha!”

Morgan Gengenbach

Site Manager
Phone: 720-865-0813
Email: morgan@fourmilepark.org

With the Rocky Mountains in her backyard, Morgan developed a passion for playing and working outdoors while growing up right here on the Front Range. She began working with horses at age nine and later discovered a fascination with history and social sciences while studying Anthropology at Regis University.

Morgan has worn many hats since earning her bachelor’s degree and has worked as an outdoor education instructor, veterinary assistant for a local equine hospital, social media support representative for a subsidiary of NBCUniversal, and food recovery specialist for a non-profit dedicated to serving Denver’s hungry. Morgan is excited to return to serving the community through the Park and is thrilled that her dual roles as Assistant Site Manager at Four Mile Historic Park allow her to combine her interests in animal care and history while remaining physically and intellectually engaged every day. Her first work-related Google search upon being hired was, “How to get a goat to stop headbutting you,” which she genuinely considers an excellent omen.

When she’s not at the Park, Morgan can usually be found pestering her horse Shadow and making up for it by giving him entirely too many snacks.

Anne Butler

Education Specialist
Phone: 720-865-0800
Email: anneb@fourmilepark.org

Anne was born and raised here in Denver, growing up minutes from the Park. She was obsessed with Laura Ingalls Wilder as a child and still has her rag doll from a visit to Laura’s Mansfield house in elementary school. She enjoys telling people that she gets paid to dress up and teach kids about Colorado history. Her favorite parts of the American Girl books were the “Looking Back” sections in the back that really brought history to life.

As a member of the education staff, Anne helps coordinate field trips and other events, making sure guests have everything they need for a successful visit.

When she’s not at the Park, Anne is very involved with her church and an international missions organization.

Melanie Archuletta

Education Specialist
Phone: 720-865-0800
Email: melanie@fourmilepark.org

Melanie Archuleta, Kaibab Paiute, was born and raised right here in Denver. As a graduate  of the Metropolitan State University of Denver, Melanie received a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, and recently graduated from Institute of American Indian Arts a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. Melanie has a strong interest in public policy and cultural effects of policy and her goal is to utilize language for healing. She enjoys volunteering, most recently, for a River Trip with the Southern Paiute Consortium to monitor ancestral sites in the Grand Canyon, for the Glen Canyon Dam Project.

Pearl

Spokesgoat

Pearl the Angora goat was just a wee little sprout when she was rejected by her mother, but she quickly found a new family when she came to the Park in 2017. She has become quite attached to the staff and volunteers and has been happy-”goat”-lucky ever since. Her mohair is sheared twice a year for volunteers to spin into Angora yarn.

As the Park’s spokesgoat, Pearl has cultivated a respectable Instagram following by sharing her interests in Colorado history, farm life, and bandana fashion. You can follow her and keep up with all of the animals on the Park @pearltheangoragoat.

Pearl enjoys long walks through the park with her friend Becky Lewin, hollering to passersby from her pen, and eating stuff she finds on the ground.

Cocoa & Edward

Bossy-pants & Herd Elder

Cocoa maintains order in the herd by gently bossing Pearl around, keeping an eye on suspicious-looking bunnies, and cuddling Edward. Cocoa provides mohair twice a year at shearing time, which our volunteers spin into Angora yarn during demonstrations. She can usually be spotted snacking in the shed or scratching her rump on pen fence work.

Edward is a 10-year-old Angora goat dedicated to maintaining the park’s landscaping by snacking on errant twigs and grasses in the mornings before the Park opens.

Moose

Head of Paddock Security

Moose is a 12-year-old Percheron gelding who takes a lot of pride in keeping his paddock-mate Jake safe from invasive geese. Formerly half of the team that pulled the Park’s Prairie Schooner, Moose is currently focusing his professional efforts on managing his small ( but mighty) herd.

Jake

Hay Transmutation Specialist

Jake is a 14-year-old Quarter Horse x Paint gelding. His pastimes include lying around in the dirt, zooming around the paddock with Moose, and casually pretending he doesn’t know what his rider is talking about when they mention that saddling up is easier when he stands still.

Mary, Catherine, Maude, Dorothy, Sophia, Blanche, Rose, Beatrice

Laying Team

The Golden Girls work hard laying eggs for the farm and are particularly enthusiastic about meeting visitors who visit with our education programs and field trips. They can always be found in the coop near the Summer Kitchen chatting the day away and liaising with local squirrels.
